Why I Left the slither.io Discord

The Short Answer

The owner, staff, and moderators of the slither.io discord assisted Aylina, Eiriker and Numerous in destroying my reputation, all based on a single false accusation (that had zero evidence when the moderators first got involved, and later had just one piece of highly circumstantial evidence: a filename or tag code that I had), even after I denied it.

It is not completely unheard of for an individual in an online forum to falsely accuse a respected member of the community of a crime. But:

Unbiased moderators would not back up the accusers within 2 minutes.
Unbiased moderators would not work with and assist the accusers without evidence.
Unbiased owners would remove a false accusation of a crime immediately upon hearing about it.
Unbiased moderators would have immediately unmuted me to let me tell my side of the story.
Unbiased moderators would not threaten to delete any response by the victim (more below).
Unbiased moderators would require very strong evidence of a crime before allowing it to be posted.

More Details

On June 19, 2024, I was a respected member of the slither.io discord server, often one of the first to assist new users with issues, and one of the biggest contributors (I.E. Snakey Monster). From what I could tell, the only issue people had with me was that a few times heated debates erupted for a few hours between me and Aylina/Eiriker. However, while they often resorted to insults ("a** clown", "idiot", "toxic") and lies (e.g. claiming that I used an IGN with their tag code in it, which is false), I have stuck to facts and have never insulted them.

On June 19, Eiriker out of the blue called me a "weak lil man" of "low character" and "pathetic", ending with "You want things to get VERY nasty? Keep it up". I ignored that, until later in the day Aylina decided to use her "ace card" and put her copy of my battledome back online. I called her out on it, and another heated debate ensued. When people wanted that night's solo event to be in a battledome server, a moderator refused to because of all the drama... but then made the unilateral decision to host the event in Aylina's server. However, I ended by saying that I would stop posting for the night.

The real nightmare, though, began the next morning, when I found out that without warning a moderator had muted me for 48 hours (preventing me from posting), for being the "aggressor"... but they did not mute Aylina or Eiriker. My first punishment on the server. Despite feeling that it was unfair, I accepted it.

On June 20, 2024, after deciding that I would likely shut down the Snakey Monster project, I did something childish and stupid: I sent Eiriker a DM including "GoldenWings111" (when he was creating this tag, he had sent me the original image, and asked for help making a tag). In a vague message, I pointed out how he had trusted me with it, but that I had not shared it. Without much thought, I felt that it would be fitting, how they had abused my copyrighted work but I had not abused theirs. A stupid thing to do, but I own up to what I do.

Then I woke up on June 21, 2024 to the false accusation that I had committed a crime. It was surreal. It had happened in the middle of the night, so I had several hours of posts to go through.

Beyond that, within 2 minutes of the false accusation being posted, a moderator told people not to use my servers ("Do not use these servers ever again!!"), and another moderator (who obviously had been talking to Aylina and Eiriker about this beforehand) backed up the accuser's argument. Having been (unfairly, in my opinion) muted, I could not respond at all. And once I could respond, my main response was without warning deleted within a few minutes of being posted... along with a statement that the moderation team would delete any response of mine unless it included either a filename with "Goldenwings111" in it, or a screenshot of a DM with "Goldenwings111" in it. Since I was unable to produce either of those, the moderators were banning me from responding to the accusations.

There is more... like how the moderator Numerous took information he knew was confidential and posted it to the moderator chat group. How Aylina and Eiriker had a direct line of communication with the chat group (getting information posted, and more importantly sending moderators information via Numerous). And how a carefully crafted "the staff is confident that CM did not use the exploit or his private server" was without notice or explanation changed to "it is possible" that I did not use the exploit or my servers (it did get changed back, but too late). But I don't energy to post more about this.

I have lost a lot of sleep over the past 10 days, and had more stress than I can recall in the past few years.
